I’m Karina, based in the New York City area, where creativity and inspiration are always within reach. By day, I work in the television industry, and by night, I’m immersed in the world of calligraphy and engraving, a craft that has grown from a quiet passion into a defining part of my life.
My journey with calligraphy began as a simple curiosity that quickly turned into something much more meaningful. As a self-taught calligrapher, I spent years exploring it as a creative outlet, always holding onto the dream of one day pursuing it professionally. In October 2019, I decided to fully invest in that dream, dedicating myself to learning every aspect of the craft, from experimenting with different inks and tools to writing on a wide range of surfaces.
What started as a personal creative practice evolved into Penned by K, a studio rooted in the belief that thoughtful, hand-crafted details can transform an experience. Today, I collaborate with brands, planners, and clients to create bespoke calligraphy and engraving for weddings, events, and brand activations, bringing a sense of artistry and intention to each project.

Outside of the studio, I love exploring nature and discovering charming small towns. Most days, though, you’ll find me at home with my husband, daughter, and son, rewatching episodes of The Office or Parks and Recreation, coffee in hand and a bag of salt and vinegar chips close by.
